Stone Mill

Precision & Patience

At ZEN, we believe that true luxury lies in the details. Our tea masters oversee every step of the cultivation process, ensuring that only the finest leaves—shaded for weeks to boost chlorophyll and umami—make it to the stone mill.

Unlike industrial processing, our granite stone mills grind the leaves slowly to prevent heat damage, preserving the delicate enzymes and vibrant color that define ceremonial-grade quality.

From Leaf to Powder

The traditional process of crafting Uji matcha.

1
Cultivation

Shaded Growth

Tea bushes are shaded for 3-4 weeks to boost chlorophyll and L-theanine.

2
Harvest

First Flush

Only the youngest, most tender leaves are hand-picked in early spring.

3
Processing

Steaming & Drying

Leaves are steamed within hours to lock in color and nutrients, then dried into Tencha.

4
Milling

Stone Grinding

Tencha is ground by granite stone mills into a fine, micron-sized powder.

5
Quality

Final Blend

Master tea blenders ensure consistency in flavor and color for every batch.
